Eating for Energy!
Only 11% of Americans eat the proper daily amount of fruits and vegetables. The average Americans diet is missing the naturally powerful, energy-boosting, nutrition found only in live raw whole foods. With fast-paced and hectic lifestyles, millions of Americans are turning to supplements and energy drinks to give them a boost of energy.
Americans waste $20 billion a year on synthetic supplements. Synthetic supplements are 50-70% less effective than natural nutrition. Another popular “pick-me-up” is energy drinks. Not only do they contain high amounts of caffeine but some even contain synthetic caffeine. The average drink contains 40 grams of refined sugar and/or, is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup.
Americans are drinking these things like crazy. These can be dangerous to our health. A study done at Wayne State University showed even perfectly healthy adults who drank 2 or more energy drinks a day had an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. Some of the side effects from high doses of sugar or caffeine are anxiety, sleeplessness, nausea and irritability.
The natural alternative to caffeine or unhealthy stimulants is a diet rich in raw whole foods and regular exercise.
